July favourites!

Quite excited to share my favourites of the month with you guys as this is my first ever monthly favourites blog post!

1. Smashbox: photo finish foundation primer- This is something I rediscovered at the beginning of the month, hidden at the back of my make up stash gathering dust; I can't believe I forgot about this treasure! Two reasons why I love this are the fact that it makes your skin look flawless in photos as everything can be blended so easily together leaving no harsh line. Secondly, I think why I forgot about this was because I was only using this for special occasions or when I knew there were going to be quite a few photos taken. I have no clue why as on a day you are in a rush it is an absolute life saver! Foundation application is so easy, i can't stress that enough. Literally takes two minutes- if that.

2. Loreal lipstick: Cheryl's nude- I wouldn't be lying if I told you I have worn this lipstick every single day of July. It is the perfect nude- not too pink nor too "foundation like". I own quite a few nudes by other higher end brands and none compare to this! The colour is just perfect and the consistency is fabulous, it is very light and not drying in the slightest. I would say I have to top this colour up about three times a day but it is easily applied due to the colour - I often do it without a mirror, it's that easy. No complaints!

3. Lush lip scrub: popcorn- I love the lush lip scubs so much, maybe a little too much. When I first discovered them I used them a little too much, my lips were red raw!(not a good look I may add also rather painful). I now use these once a week, my lips have never felt softer. Something to add to the appeal of this product is that it is actually edible so no need to worry about getting any in your mouth as it's all natural products. Strangely this is something I am rather paranoid about is what chemicals could be in some products I put near my mouth... Strange, I know. Maybe a little too cautious or just clumsy.

4. Urban Decay - original naked palette-  another little treasure I have rediscovered! The month of July has made me realise why I loved this palette so much the first time around. The colours are so versatile, easily creating day or night time looks all within one palette. Not going to go into much detail as everyone is probably sick of hearing about it or you are like me and love it even more whenever you hear about it! As you can see from the photo my favourite colours as "sin" and "buck" - the perfect everyday eye look. A shimmery pink champagne over the lids with a matte medium brown in the crease for a little bit of definition.

5.  Marc Jacobs - Daisy - one of my favourite scents! I have been using this a lot this month as I have done quite a bit of travelling I only wanted to take one perfume with me and I haven't got bored of this at all. The sweet scent is more of a day scent rather than evening I'll admit but that doesn't phase me. The bottle is also the perfect size, I have the handbag size and the larger size of other marc jacobs perfumes so this felt like the right size to take with me and I am not disappointed.

 6. Benefit- they're real push up liner- a slightly new product to make its way into my collection, I bought this mid July but have used it every day since! The quality of the liner is excellent, the colour, the staying power, the applicator. What else can I say? It's brilliant! The rubber nib also makes applying this product easy on the eyes. I have had a few liners that would pull and tug slightly on my eyes which not only hurt but also made the application a lot more difficult especially if you were trying to do a winged out look. This on the other hand is the easiest gel liner I have! 100% recommend this to anyone wanting to try out a gel liner, the rubber nib did take a couple days to get used to as it feels rather strange in comparison to a brush or a liquid liner.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed !

A day in the life: Shopping in Edinburgh

Though I'd do a slightly different kind of post today!(:

Yesterday myself and Andrew decided to make a little trip into Edinburgh for some shopping; correction we did plan to go on Saturday but the weather was just dreadful! And to make matters worse we were dressed for summer and the rain just came from nowhere as soon as we turned up at the station- boo!

Here are a few photos I took:

Of course there had to be a few train selfies..

Once we arrived into Edinburgh we decided to take a walk through the gardens as it was quite a nice day and unfortunetly Scottish weather can be unpredictable and didn't want to miss the opportunity if it was raining when we were on our way back. The gardens are so beautiful and it looked like many others had the same plan as us to make the most of the weather. Me being my silly self, I never actually got any photos of the garden but I did take a few more snaps on our travels along Princes Street.

The photos don't actually do justice on how lovely the day was, looks awfully cloudy and dark. iPhone quality photos for you! The street act we seen were really good and drew in quite a large croud, I love the sound of the bagpipes when they are accompanying another instrument- alone I tend to find them quite annoying (very patriotic I am..).

As we made our way down Princes Street there weren't many places we really fancied going into so our shopping trip was very short lived. Andrew wanted to go into Hollister as he is on the hunt for a nice short sleeved denim shirt- no luck! Afterwards we headed into topshop and house of Fraser; I only ended up purchasing one thing! The Bobbi Brown shimmer brick in pink quartz - been eyeing it up for quite a while and Tanya Burr finally pushed me over the edge with her "get ready with me" video as she used it in that and knew I needed it in my life!

Once we got home we had a huge Sunday dinner courtesy of Andrews mum - was lovely! Followed by golden syrup sponge and ice cream while watching rubbish on the TV. Overall it was a lovely day - not too busy, just enough for a Sunday.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!
