Products not worth the hype #1 | TeilzC

Hey guys!

Sadly some products just don't live up to expectations and it's such a bummer! Definitely having one of those dilemas right now!

Soap and Glory Supercat liquid black eyeliner pen

I've seen so many people blogging about this and heard it mentioned in numerous youtube videos so thought i'd give it a try.

Having loved the winged liner look for many years now I have tried my fair share of liners over the years. I bought the supercat just over two weeks ago for £6 I believe; so mid price range. So price wise it's not a bad deal and I really do enjoy a pen rather than having to dip a brush into the liner.

I'm currently also using the benefit push up gel liner which I like to use on my days off work as it was a considerable amount more expensive, so my liquid liners need to be durable and last my twelve and a half hour shifts which the supercat does not, I feel like it fades after a few hours after application.

As it is a liner pen you'd think it would be easy to apply which to some extent it is, but what I find most annoying is when you try to join the liner from your eyelid to the wing instead of the product overlapping it just pulls it away leaving sections of your eye with no product. With the name implying it is easy to have the "cat eye" or winged liner look it is quite shocking. You can play around with it and use a dotting technique to fill in the gaps afterwards but for myself, getting ready at 5am is enough of a struggle without having to mess around with the small amount of make up I do wear to work.

So overall I wouldn't recomend this product; there are so many other eyeliners that take less time, look so much better and some are also cheaper!
I'm quite disappointed about this product as I swear by a few of their other products and it is normally such a reliable brand!

If anyone wants me to do a post on my favourite eyeliners then leave a comment below!

Zoella Beauty review | TeilzC

Recently I was given a few things from Zoe Suggs new beauty and bath collection from my lovely Andrew as I was feeling a little down in the dumps. It was the most perfect surprise; can't beat a good bath when you're not feeling the best. As you can see from the photo I got the fizz bar and the blissful mistful body mist.

First impressions: The packaging is just beautiful, what more can I say? It's so girly and the detailing is just too cute. The pop of pink just adds something extra- it draws you in. I have always thought packaging is very important if you are trying to bring out new products and Zoe has done an excellent job!

Blissful Mistful: This is the perfect size to throw in my handbag, doesn't take up too much room yet you don't have to rummage through everything to find it. The scent itself isn't what I was expecting, I was thinking of a very fruity and quite strong scent targeted towards a slightly younger person but boy was I wrong? It is a light floral scent, not too overpowering- it's just lovely. I also like that it is in a perfume bottle as usually with body mists I could just carry on spraying until everyone around me is choking on it but with this a couple of sprays does the trick.

Fizz Bar: I've used this twice now and both times my skin has felt so so soft afterwards! This is a fizz bar so just like a bath bomb it doesn't create bubbles it only makes your skin feel and smell lovely. It has the same scent as the body mist and makes the whole bathroom smell divine. What is great about this is you only need one or two square per bath so can be used 4-8 times which is brilliant! One tip I'll give you is to break the squares over the bath, first time I used this I had tiny pieces of fizz bar all over the bathroom floor but overall a fantastic product.

We'll done Zoe!

What do you guys think of the products?

The Beauty Scenario Tag! | TeilzC

1. You have to get rid of all your foundations and you can only keep one high end and one drugstore, which do you keep?

As a teenager I was one of the lucky ones who would only get the tiniest blemish every once in a while, so embarassingly I have only tried two foundations.. Revlon photoready which has become a staple in my make up bag and the Chanel Perfection Lumière. Both are surprisingly similar in coverage and staying power.

2. You go for an interview and the lady interviewing you has lipstick on her teeth. Do you approach the subject or ignore it completely?

Definitely ignore it! You are trying to make that person like you! I've seen a few answers saying that if they then notice they will wonder why you didnt tell them, but chances are there will be someone before and after you so it's not really an issue. If it was a friend I would 100% tell them and I pray they would do the same for me!

3. You're not feeling yourself and need a pick me up. Which lipstick do you put on to make yourself feel beautiful?

I enjoy using the topshop Lip Stick in.. Emm honestly forgotten the name but it is bright orange. Orange lipstick is like marmite; you either love it or hate it. I am currently obsessing over them right now. The lipstick just gives some colour to brighten up a dull day, it also leaves a beautiful stain so it's up to yourself whether or not you want to reapply.

4. You go back in time for a day to your teenage years, how would you do your hair and makeup differently?

I was absolutely horrendous at liquid liner for a good year or so! I used to do it sooo thick as i would basically cover all of my eyelid that you could see when my eyes were open. My hair wasn't actually too bad, maybe just not use heat as much and wear it natural instead of pin straight everyday.

5. You ask your hairdresser for a shoulder length Pixie Lott hair cut, but they hear wrong and give you a pixi cut. Do you a) Smile, say thank you, leave and call your mum hysterical b) Cry in the chair and things get awkward or c) Complain to the manager and demand a refund.

B, definitely. It takes a lot for me to go to the hairdressers, one bad cut and i'm scarred for life so i now watch them like a hawk! Hopefully i would have noticed before it was unable to be fixed!

6. Your friend surprises you with a 4 day city break and you have 1 hour to pack. Which 'do it all' palette do you pack in your makeup bag?

Hands down the original naked palette. This wee beauty comes everywhere with me (travel wise). It is so versitile for day and night looks. Even does for my eyebrows and even a highlight too.

7. Your house has been robbed, don't worry everyone is safe, but your beauty stash has been raided. What's the product you really hope is safe?

My lipsticks! I'm not one for hoarding thousands of eyeliners, foundations, bronzers etc so i only tend to have one or two of each but lipsticks i could buy and buy and buy. So i have a fair little collection going. Yep, definitely my lipsticks.

8. Your friend borrows your makeup and returns it in awful condition. Do you a) Just pretend you haven't noticed b) Ask them to repurchase it or c) Secretly do the same to something of theirs

Sounds so mean but I never let anyone borrow my make up unless i can get it back straight away. My precious. Nah; i'm just really fussy and worried incase i need it before they can give it back to me.

Hope you enjoyed this tag, leave your answers in the comments or link me to your post

Rainy day - FOTD & OOTD | TeilzC

So the weather hasn't been all that great lately, Autumn is finally here!  I wasn't planning on doing very much today as I have been non-stop the past few weeks; needed a chilled out day.

Make up:
Foundation: Revlon photoready 002 vanilla
Concealer- Soap and Glory kick ass concealer in light
Contour- Bobbi Brown bronzer in golden light
Eyes- naked basics palette: naked 2 all over the lid and a touch of faint in the crease, benefit they're real push up liner and maybelline the colossal mascara.
Lips- Avon lipstix in brick red
Eyebrows- faint eyeshadow from naked basics palette

I didn't bother with a few things like powder and blush as my skin has been so dry lately that it's making my skin look quite flaky if i use powder. The joys of the changing seasons!

Outfit:

Honestly nothing special about my outfit, if i owned a onesie or a pair of joggers they would have been my first pick but unfortunately for me, leggings are the best option. I paired this with a black strap top to ensure my bottom half is covered as leggings are not trousers! I can't stress this enough, the amount of underwear I have seen while shopping is ridiculous. It's not cute girls! For a pop of colour I chose this lovely stretch material red peplum top, cute and comfortable. As it is quite chilly I ended up throwing on a black cardigan too.

Leggings- New Look
Strap top- Primark
Peplum top- New Look
Cardigan - H&M

And my slippers are from primark haha- they are a must for this time of year!

What do you wear on lazy rainy days?

How I Store My Make Up Brushes | TeilzC

Helloooo my loves,

Today I thought i'd show you all how I store my brushes, it has taken me a while and many different ways of storing them to finally  find a way that I like!

I bought these little beauties from ebay, originally they are from ikea. I had a browse on the ikea website and couldn't find them in these colours - only in white or red. So only one thing for it...ebay! There were plenty of people on there selling them in these two colours so I was delighted! They go perfectly in my pastel bedroom.

I split my brushes into two; one for face brushes and one of eye brushes. As you can see I don't have many eye brushes, I tend to stick with the same eyeshadows most days so I will just spot clean every time I use them. Whereas face brushes I have had a bit of a love-hate relationship with foundation brushes. I feel like I always look streaky, but after watching tutorial after tutorial I had this urge to try basically all of the different foundation brushes out there! Out of them all I'd say I have a new love of the stippling brush.

I feel this way of storing them is perfect as I can see all the brushes I have, they are not stored in a drawer where I may forget about some of the ones I don't use as often. They are accessible as they are sitting on my vanity and they just look rather pretty. The only downfall I'd say about storing them like this is I feel like you have to deep clean them a lot more often; even the ones you haven't been using as I am just paranoid about them getting dusty and then putting that on my face.. YUCK. Then again if you are an avid make up fan like myself, you should be deep cleaning your brushes often anyways!

Thanks for reading, let me know how you store your make up brushes in the comments or even link me to a post if you have done one similar

Perfect Autumn/Fall Nude Lip | TeilzC

Hi guys :)

Recently I purchased Boldly Bare lip pencil by MAC (which you will see in my September haul here). Over the past few weeks it has become a staple in my make up bag; wondering how I ever lived without it!

Lets get started:

First of all I take my boldly bare lip pencil and line my lips then fill them in

Apply Peach Blossum lipstick by Mac this is a Cremesheen so it is rather glossy and easy to apply

Then finally take the Barry M lipgloss in what i believe is toffee (i cant see it anywhere on the tube!) and apply that all over the lips. Tip: if you want your lips to appear fuller just apply this to the middle of the lips.

& we're done, as easy as that! This is partially Kylie Jenner inspired, going for a slightly darker nude. If you have a darker skin tone than myself. Mac whirl lip liner is the exact colour Kylie uses. Unfortunately for me being very pale it is just far too dark for me.

Thanks for reading, what's your favourite lipstick for this time of year?

Holiday Snaps | Icmeler, Turkey September 2014

Hello everyone,

Thought i'd do a different kind of post today and upload some of my holiday photos. I visited Icmeler, Turkey on the 2nd of September 2014 for 8 days and all i can say is it was fantastic! So fantastic that I have booked to go again next year already..

This was my first time visiting Turkey whereas Andrew has been around 8 times previously. The weather was lovely, the people were friendly, the surroundings were beautiful and everything was cheap! Can't beat a bargain!

(Just had to put this one in haha!)

Hope you's enjoyed something a little different!
