Do's and Don'ts - Interview | TeilzC

Hey guys!

Slightly different kind of post today; i'd say i've been to quite a few interviews in my time for different kinds of things; courses, jobs, opportunities. You name it. So I thought i'd give you some pointers that I try and stick with when going to an interview.

We'll start with the things not to do-

1. Be late! Time keeping is very important, a potential employer will take a note of this. This would not be a very good first impression. Arrange in advance how you are going to get to the interview and how long it will take. I like to be there 15 minutes before the time of interview.

2. Fidget - I know this might be difficult for some people but it makes you come across as not being so confident in what you are saying as you are trying to sell yourself to this person to make them want to hire you!

3. Forget to ask questions - This shows you have had a think about the things you may be doing and are trying to gather as much information as possible to come to a decision. The more you ask, the more keen you look! I would avoid the "how much would I get an hour?" though.

Now onto something a bit more positive!

1. Come prepared! Whether that's certificates, ID, disclosures. Anything of the sort! I like to store mines in a folder with all my important paperwork. It also includes a couple of letters/bank statement for proof of address as i don't know if it's just me that rarely gets mail these days and you never know when it might come in handy!

2. Have something you have done in your life to relate to the interview- if that title made any sense haha, basically I work within the healthcare industry and a lot of the time i'm asked why I want to work there? A few years back I volunteered in Africa and we got to see what their hospitals are like- not the best i'd say. Which is what pushed my to want to care for people and do the best for them as I could. I use this experience to relate the the jobs i am applying for.

3. Wear something to make you stand out! Often people assume interviews mean you have to look professional and that immediately makes people lean towards black! That's not always the case. Wear something different. Colour doesn't make you look unprofessional at all. I've done a post about what I wore to an interview which you can click here to see!

Relaxing after a stressful day | TeilzC

There are many ways that we all like to relax and just chill out after a stressful day. With the type of work that I do, I need a chilled out night after every shift! Twelve and a half hour shift plus the stress that comes along with calls for these!

1. Bath time! Not just for scubbing away all the germs but also the stress! If i've had an extremely busy day I tend to have a bath rather than a shower. A bathbomb and some music is the perfect combo! Let all my muscles relax and have some peace.

2. Put on fresh sheets and clean pjs and grab a cuddle buddy - Having an early night can do the world of good, even if you don't fall asleep right away it's nice to just sit back and do nothing all evening.

3. Clean my room- This is a strange one, clean to relax?! It really works! Clean and organised room means clean and organised thoughts. Makes bedtime much easier as my mind is at rest.

4. Movie night- Chilling out with some films and your fave snack, what else can I say?

5. Calling friends/family- For myself this tends to be Andrew most nights as he never fails to make me smile and take my mind off the day i've had and the next to come. Or i'll have a chat with my mum, she is a great listener and will always find the good in things.

What do you do after a stressful day?

Hilton Strathclyde stay | TeilzC

Hello everyone,

Myself and Andrew were lucky enough to receive some vouchers to use at the Hilton spa for our Christmas, so much stuff going on between little days away here and there we were only able to use them last weekend!

We each received a stress care package which consisted of a 30 minute back, neck and shoulder massage and a 45 minute facial. We'd both never had either so were a bit nervous on what to expect. We were first shown to a lovely waiting room- that was relaxing in itself, the pastel colours, comfy couches and free coffee. What more could a girl want?

Andrew was called in first, then myself 15 minutes later. The lady I got was called Natalie who was very kind as she knew it was my first time. She left the room to let me undress and get myself under the blanket. When she came back in she dimmed the lights and put on some relaxing music; when she began the massage she started telling me what she was going to do and asked if the pressure was alright. The 30 minutes flew by! I swear I must have fallen asleep I was that relaxed.  The facial was also brilliant! She started off asking how my skin was and chose out the products that would work best for me. Lots of lotions and potions were applied and afterwards my skin felt the softest it had felt in months! Would highly recommend this package and at only £55 for both the treatments and £10 each off the menu at the space restuarant, I would say it's quite the bargain!

We decided to stay the night at the hotel also, having stayed here a few times before and loved it we used our treatments as an excuse to stay again. As it's not right in the center of Glasgow there are usually some great deals going about. We booked maybe a month and a half prior to the day of arrival and the deal we got was fantastic! £80 for the night which included access to the pool and other facilities such as the gym, sauana and steam room, breakfast which is a buffett style with everything you could imagine and dinner- which we were a little worried it was going to be a set menu and us both being quite fussy wouldn't go well. We were pleasantly surprised when the waitress explained that we each got £23.95 to spend on the menu this only excludes drinks. We each got a three-course meal and our total bill was £8 for the few drinks we had each. Could not fault that at all. Our room was right beside the lift, which we had never had before so we were slightly worried about the noise but the Hilton has thought of everything, between the hall and bedroom space there was another door to cancel out any noise- we never heard a thing!

I would highly, highly recommend the Hilton Stathclyde- the staff are all lovely and we had a brilliant stay!

Here are some of the photos I took on the night:

Thanks for reading! Leave a comment of any hotels you thought were brilliant!

Magnitone Lucid Review

I finally did it, I splurged out on something i've wanted for ages! Something that will benefit my skin and hopefully last a long time. I did my research before buying as to begin with our only option was the clarasonic and I must be blessed with not to bad skin so would have never paid the price for it! The magnitone was a cheaper alternative and from other reviews in the blogging world, does the exact same thing.

The magnitone lucid has two settings, one for sensitive skin and a 'normal' skin setting. At first I tried the sensitive setting for 7 days- it was lovely! My skin looked clearer and brighter! My makeup also went on a lot smoother making my skin look a lot more flawless which is always a bonus.

For the next 7 days I tried the setting for normal skin, this setting is a bit more abrasive. The results were even more amazing than the first week! My skin was clear, bright, soft to touch and didn't look as blotchy as I normally do. The only downfall was that my skin felt more sensitive and tender. The normal setting seemed to be too rough for my skin to handle, but the results were so good! I was in a bit of a pickle!

I tried out so many different ways of using the magnitone so I still got the results I wanted yet not making my face feel tender. The best result was:
Day 1: sensitive setting
Day 2: normal setting
Day 3: break
Repeat.

What products do I use with my magnitone?
I use the liz earle cleanse and polish to first remove my make up, using clean hands and a hot cloth. Following with another round of the cleanse and polish with use of the magnitone. I then use the liz earle toner and moisturiser.

Overall I highly recommend the magnitone lucid! You just need to play about with the settings and days that you use it to find out what works best for you. It also comes in a range of colours which is a bonus! At only £69.99 in most stores and online i'd say it is a complete bargain for how well it works!

Other amazing factors:
Completely waterproof
Magnet charger
Lightweight and easy to travel with
Holds a good charge (had mines for a few months and yet to charge it)

What's your favourite part of your skincare routine?

A day in the life... family day out! | TeilzC

Hello everyone! It's 2015, I can't believe it's here already. How did that happen?!

A few weeks ago myself, Andrew, his mum and gran took a little trip into Edinburgh to see Winter Wonderland that is still currently at Princes Gardens. We had a lovely day filled with shopping, waffles, hot chocolate and lots of laughs.

I took a few snaps throughout the day; I believe it is in Edinburgh for another weekso if you have the chance to go I'dhighly recommend it!

There were so so many stalls, something for everyone! Candles, chocolate, hot food, nut crackers, nic-naks - basically everything you could ever want from a market. So much variety!

We were so lucky that the sun came out for us- unusual to have a clear sky I the middle of Winter in Scotland.

As it gets darker the more beautiful Edinburgh gets, the lights look fantastic!

After a lovely day, there was mixed emotions. Sad to be leaving but so glad to see my bed! If you didn't get the chance to visit this year the it is definitely a must for next time around!

2015 Bucket List

As I did last year... Here comes another bucket list!

1. Once again, travel more! I think this is on my list every year. I'd much rather spend my money seeing the world than going out every weekend. This is a must! I wonder where this year will take me?

2. Spend more time with my family; when juggling my life around between working, seeing Andrew and spending time with my friends and family my family tend to be left until last but I am going to make much more of an effort to see them more often.

3. Lay off the fizzy juice! Everyone has got to have some sort of diet goal for the year right? I managed to give it up for a couple years back in secondary school but as a terrified 18 year old on her first proper night out what was my choice of drink? Vodka and coke. Typical.

4. Say yes to more opportunities and make an effort to find opportunities myself and go for them!

5. Make some progress in my career, apply for new jobs? Promotions? Anything! Just move onwards and upwards from where I am now.

What is on your bucket list for 2015? Let me know in the comments!

Wanderlust Tag!

As some of you may know, i absolutely love to travel. See the world. So today I thought i'd do the Wanderlust tag!

Let's get started:

Where was your first plane to?

I can't remember much of this holiday as I was only six years old. My mum saved and saved to take myself and my younger brother Evan (one at the time) away to the lovely Island of Majorca; Palma Nova to be exact.

Where have you travelled to that you would love to visit again?
To be honest I have never had a bad holiday, some haven't been as amazing as others yet they each hold memories i've made there. If I could only pick one... It would have to be LA. It was beautiful and so many things to do!

You’re leaving tomorrow, money is no object, where are you going?
Hmm this is a tricky one; personallly my holidays are so different. I'm either up and out early for the whole day exploring or somehow manage to spend the whole week just relaxing. For a busy exciting holiday i'd love to visit New York- the shopping, Broadway, the food- it all looks incredible! Whereas for a more relaxing holiday it has to be Australia. Sun, sea, sand; what more can i say? It looks beautiful.

Preferred method of travel; planes, trains or car? Although trains are my most used method of transport for longer journeys it is not my preffered method. I find it so easy to fall asleep on a plane so i'm going with that. You're at the destination before you know it! My record is managing to sleep for an entire eight hour flight!

Favourite travel website?
If i'm honest, I never really visit travel websites. I like to experience things first hand and as for booking to go away Andrew or my mum is in charge of that!

Where would you travel to just eat the food?
Italy! I love Italian food as it is but to go and taste it from a 'proper' italian restuarant would be amazing. The pizza for sure!

Is there a place you would never go again?
Never say never. As I said previously, obviously some places won't be as amazing as others but they will all hold the memories you made there and you never know, the next time could be great.

Can you recite your passport number from memory if asked?
Definitely not. It has taken me so long to remember my phone number which I use a lot more frequently; so this is near enough impossible with me!

Do you prefer the Window, Aisle, or Middle seat?
I'm pretty easy going with where I sit, as I said before I tend to sleep the whole way so probably the window. I'd hate to think someone was stuck and needing the loo!
How do you pass the time on the air plane?
Sleep, sleep, eat and more sleep. I'm honestly the worst person to travel with if you like company!

Hope you enjoyed, leave your answers in the comments or if you have already done this tag then feel free to leave a link!
